Question What films make YOU cry? (Yes boys, that means you too... )

Lets find out what makes all of us tick. A good way to find this out? To see what presses our emotional buttons I know I cry at a lot of things unconciously just because they hit me dead center.

Post here without fear of flame or criticism.
We'll be having no "You're a such a wimp" or "Man, that movie SUCKED.. you must be an A-hole to have liked it" or I shall have the thread closed myself to protect those more sensative souls

-----

I cannot watch Gladiator or Braveheart without squirtin some silent tears. The whole honour thing mixed with the incredible music is what gets me.

Vunerability is another. A recent film I saw once then dedided it was that good I bought it off eBay, was Life is A House. A fanTAStic movie in my opinion. (For god's sake, go watch the bastard)
Simple, yet defined as an in depth story (for those of us who dissolve into films), that just lets you enjoy pure good film making with no obvious innuendos. What's obvious, is MADE obvious and what's not... well, they don't waste your time. I love it. In fact.. I'm off to watch it. Again

I have yet to cry per se, but I did get sort of teery eyed in two movies: John Q and Schindler's List (only the first time).

Ooohh, Green Mile, SPR, We were Soldiers and S'sL I totally agree

What part of One Hour Photos was it that made you cry? I haven't seen it in a while, can't remember exact bits.

It was near the end, where robin williams gets arrested or whatever for those photos he took of that nasty couple or whatever, and the cop asks him why he did it and he says something like "I just took pictures", and then goes on to explain about how he can't understand how it when he sees parents taking photos of their kids doing sick things, or humiliating people and cheating on people behind their spouse' backs and what not. Basically saying that what he did was nothing compared to how sick and twisted the rest of the world can be.

That did it for me, *sigh* Good stuff. A good point and deep meaning hit me where it means the most.

Forgot about Schindler's List, great film---GREAT film. I watched that a while back in high school, and started to cry in the middle of class.

I sit in the back though.

So I was still cool right...right?

You guys will think this is a little weird, but my answer is the end of Midway, when American forces finally starts Japanesse kicking butt. A desicive military victory is just beautiful. That's the only movie I regularily get teary eyed on. Not 100% sure why, but for some reason thinking about the battle of midway does that to me from time to time. The little comment attributed to Wiston Churchill adds to it a tiny bit.

*Shrugs*

I'm not the biggest military buff, but that was probably one of the most important naval battles america has fought and in terms of importance, to me at least, ranks a little higher than D-Day. For those of you who don't know, the battle took place from June 4th-June 6th 1942 in the middle of the pacific. Japan sent out one of the largest armadas ever, consisting of 200 or so ships including 4 carriers and a number of battleships. America had about 20 ships, including 3 carriers and no battleships, and the tiny atoll we were protecting. If we lost the battle, Hawaii would have been within range of Japan's long range bombers and we would have suffered probably a big defeat in a theater that had little good news. Somehow USA managed to win.

There may be others, but I can't think of them.

I get moved sometimes, dont really cry.. Guess I have shed a tear once or twice..
A recent one I can remember was from Lords of the Ring.
When the elves comes to honor the old alliance. (They KNOW they are all going to die, but they will fight in the aid of an ally regardless)

I've read the book a cupple times and when the elves came marching i just melted. They so made a mistake in not makeing that scene longer. I could have watched them march for hours with the right background music. Now I have to rewind.. sigh..

There is only one movie that made me a lil teary.. It's called "The Road Home." It's a love story in China with extremely well done camera shots and a story to match. I don't want to give away much because I'm hoping some of you see it, but it's basicly about this man who returns home to his quiet but primative village to aid in his father's funeral and recalls how his mother and father met. It's very cute, very sad and very touching all at once. Give it a shot : ) My gal loved it.
